An installation of the work of Jaclyn Jacunski will be exhibited from 10/12- 12/4 in the Dickson Center Window Art Project Space. Join Jaclyn in an Artist Talk on 10/15 at 2 PM to learn how she draws on notions of public life, private ownership, communal living, and social transformation as she explores how land, class, and collective life leave their marks in the physical world. Her practice includes printmaking, sculpture, and participatory installation.

This LLI Fitness Center Usage class provides participants with structured access to the Fitness Center in a supportive and welcoming environment. Designed to promote strength, mobility, and overall wellness, the class allows members to work at their own pace, explore the equipment available, and enhance their personal wellness -- while receiving guidance as needed from Waubonsee's Fitness Center staff. Class participants may use the Fitness Center on Fridays and have free access to on-site staff Melissa and Lauren, who are available to assist with equipment use, exercise modifications, and general fitness support. This class is ideal for individuals looking to maintain or improve fitness while enjoying the motivation and community of an LLI group setting.

Required:  All students will have a waiver and health history form on file.

The Schingoethe Center at Aurora University will feature a Guided tour of the exhibition “Here, There: New Perspectives from the Illinois State Museum Collection” for Fall 2026. The exhibit focuses on modern and contemporary artworks exploring themes of nostalgia, home, belonging, and American sites of history. Easy Going

We will continue our tour of the Art installations on the campus of Aurora University with a guided Walking Tour that covers the history and significance of the paintings, sculptures and installations that sprinkle the campus.  This tour will feature art not seen in Part 1 of last spring.

 You do not need to have taken Part 1 to enroll.

This special screening of No Small Matter, the first feature-length documentary exploring the critical importance of high-quality early childhood education and its lasting impact on children, families, communities, and the economy.

The evening will begin with networking and opportunities to connect with local organizations and community resources, followed by the film screening. After the movie, a panel of early childhood experts, educators, and community leaders will discuss the film's key themes, answer questions, and explore how our region can work together to strengthen early childhood education and support families.

Whether you're an early childhood professional, student, parent, policymaker, employer, or community advocate, this event offers an opportunity to learn, connect, and be part of the conversation about investing in our youngest learners.

This class is complimentary and all ages are welcome. We will have heavy refreshments.

We approach the 2026 Midterms. Understanding the heightened polarization of Americans is crucial. Voters are entrenched in party loyalties, often politicizing ideological alignment over bipartisan dialogue. The hyper-partisan environment not only shapes political strategies but also influences voter turnout and engagement. This raises questions about the future of collaboration and governance in an increasingly divided political landscape.

The story of Jonah, a cowardly hero running from danger has a universal message. The myth of such a hero being swallowed by a great fish runs through the myths of all the worlds great religions. The universality of such a story uncovers themes of intolerance, stubborn independence and surrender. These themes are demonstrated in many levels of society from ancient times until the present. This myth is meant to be a moral lesson. This is a story small children learn, not just in a secular environment, but on TV and movies. In this class, members will be challenged to look at the history of their own heroes and perhaps find a bit of hero in their own story.
